Early Screamer

Yesterday was Papa's birthday at our house. There were 18 people here throughout the day and yet Joshua was great with everyone being at the house. He even skipped his afternoon nap without complaint! I kept him up until about 9pm and then put him to bed without problems. But at 6am we woke up to him screaming. Joe and I tried cuddling him, rocking him and feeding him for 25 minutes but he couldn't calm down. It was scary! We checked for broken bones and injuries but he seemed fine. Then I checked his mouth and our little guy has his fifth tooth. :)

He's never been like that with a tooth (and especially not AFTER it came through) but we gave him some Infant's Tylenol and he played for a few hours and then went back down for his morning nap. Joe was really nice and let me sleep through Josh's awake time so now that Joshua is napping, he is too! :P

Sick and Grumpy

Joshua is so sick. He's had a runny nose for about a week now but we just attributed it to teething and let it go. Now, his nose is running and he's coughing and he won't go to sleep (for his naps). He is so unhappy! Today was the first day (pretty much since he was born) that we were all up and ready to leave for church on time, we were even an hour early! We were actually going to be at church when it started for once! And then Joshua got grumpy and sick and now here we are, home at 10am. No church for us this morning. But at least we won't inadvertently spread his germs to all the other little kids in the congregation.

Realizations

Joshua is getting so big and is so much fun now. We play a game where he wrinkles his nose and snorts at us and we do it back. He thinks it's funny and giggles so much! I love it!

Yet, this stage is also getting harder. Gone is the little boy who would sit peacefully while I visit with friends or we go out for dinner. He now wants to be everywhere eating everything and pushing stuff onto the ground.

Yesterday was Amy (and Owen)'s baby shower. Joshua was actually good (thank you for keeping him entertained, Myn. I couldn't have done it without you!) Yet today we went for lunch with my Dad, (Josh's Grandpa Mike) and Joshua was a little terror. Don't get me wrong, he is well-bahaved but wants to be everywhere but in his chair. I thought it might get easier when he learns to walk but people tell me that I'm dreaming! *L*
